Subscription and Patronage

Marginalia is guided by a research program more than business plan. Support this investigation of the potential of Walla Walla vineyards to yield wines outside the big red/crisp white paradigm by joining the mailing list, buying the wines, and helping like-minded friends discover the project. If you would like to support the project in a more systematic way, and guarantee your earliest possible access to the widest range of Marginalia wines, there are two membership options: a monthly subscription plan and annual patronage.

Subscription

As a subscriber you’ll make a monthly contribution to your account which you can spend on wines or other merchandise—there is no set allocation; you decide which wines to purchase. You’ll also have access to core and limited release wines before they are offered to the wider public. You will receive all wines and merchandise at a discount of 15% off retail price. If you’re excited about these wines and the Marginalia project, this is a great way to support the work, but with a lower level of financial commitment and more flexibility and choice than more traditional wine clubs. The initial commitment is for one year of monthly contributions at $25/mo.

  • $25/mo with no commitment past the first six months.

  • No set allocations; you chose the wines you buy and when to purchase.

  • 15% discount on all purchases.

  • Preferential access to wines before they are offered to the mailing list and for sale to the general public

  • Free local delivery or actual cost shipping.

Patronage

As a Patron you’ll be allocated six bottles of each core release and have the first crack at any limited release wines. You will receive all wines at a discount of 25% off retail price, including your core allocation, reorders, and limited release wines. The initial commitment is for one full year (two shipments), and renews automatically. In general there will be three “core release” wines in each calendar year: one amber wine, one light red wine, and one red wine. (The light red wine will often release in the spring following harvest, and the red wine will usually release one full year after harvest, in the Fall. The amber wine will usually release in the Fall as well, but may sometimes get bumped up to the spring if it is ready to bottle earlier.)

  • Guaranteed allocation of six bottles of each core release wine. (2-3 wines per year).

  • Initial commitment of one year/two shipments.

  • 25% discount on all purchases, including basic allocation.

  • Two allocations/shipments per year, typically one 6 bottle shipment in the Spring and one 12 bottle shipment in the Fall.

  • First crack at any limited release wines.

  • Free local delivery or actual cost shipping.
